Job description
We are assisting this University in their search for a Major/Leadership Gifts Officer to support the Development Office and their ongoing capital campaigns. This individual will work in conjunction with a Director to identify, cultivate and solicit potential donors with a specific list of target objectives. The University's capital campaign is well underway and, as the Major/Leadership Gifts Officer, you will support areas of this campaign while working closely with Annual Giving, Alumni and External Affairs, Corporate/Foundation Relations and deans/faculty of the various schools.

This role will require travel throughout the Northeast on behalf of general University business, fundraising events and visits to potential and existing major donors. Expected travel will be 35-50%.

Who we are looking for
As the ideal candidate for this role, you will:

- Be a development professional with at least four years of successful fundraising experience
- Be comfortable with soliciting major donors for gifts of $50,000 and up
- Have experience and familiarity with higher education development and the goals of a typical University capital campaign
- Have a four-year degree and preferable, an advanced degree in non-profit management, development or education
